PUERTO ALCUDIA - NINTH BOAT FAIR AND SEPIA GASTRONOMY FAIR

(Note: all activities, exhibits, fairs are located along the Paseo Marítimo between the marina and the Plaça de sa Quarantena, which is the square before you get to the commercial port.)

Friday, 4 April:
17.30: Contacontes (story-telling) "Princeses Blaves i Prìnceps Encantadors". Fishermen's guild building.
18.00: Dignitaries arrive at restaurants marquee.
Opening of the gastronomy fair. Music and tapas. Plaça de sa Quarantena. Opening of craft and food market.
Opening of exhibitions at the port authority's building.

Saturday, 5 April:
10.00: Opening of the boat fair, the gastronomy fair, the craft and food fairs.
Exhibits include: La Balear, the traditional and restored "vela llatina" fishermen's boat which is owned by the Council of Mallorca and the Guardia Civil's helicopter and boat.
10.00-13.30: Children's bike park (local police and civil protection). Plaça de sa Quarantena.
11.00: Opening of restaurants' marquee.
11.00-13.00 / 16.00-19.00: Demonstration of sailing, kayaking and surfing. Xara beach by the marina.
11.00-13.00: Open day at the Esports Natura school of the sea. Alcudiamar.
11.00: Demonstration of radio-controlled boats.
12.00-13.30: Workshop demonstration of net-making and other fishermen craft.
Procession by Xaranga d'Alcúdia. From the port church.
16.00: L'Estol del Rei en Jaume satirical figures and the Alcúdia giants plus pipers.
17.00: Show: "El Concierto Loco de los Gabytos" (family show with comedy and music).
21.30: Music, tapas and drinks (music by Deejays Grup) at the marquee.

Sunday, 6 April:
10.00: Fairs re-open and dignitaries visit (from the marquee).
Exhibits and demonstrations, the same as Saturday.
Specific activities alter:
11.00: Boats' parade. Demonstration of flyboard.
13.00: Folk dance of a Seville style by the group Al Alba.
15.00-17.00: Music with Deejays Grup at the marquee.
17.00: Children's schools of ball de bot folk dance with Sarau Alcudienc and Aires des Pla (from Sant Joan) followed by popular folk dance with Sarau Alcudienc and the Sa Torre group (from Manacor).
