After thirteen years, there is once more a tourist train in Puerto Alcúdia, two of them, one green and one yellow. The trains go from Club Mac by Hidropark across to Bellevue and up onto the main road, travelling on the side road parallel to the Carretera Artà, past Magic and turning off before getting into the port on the road (Avenida Playa) that goes to the horse roundabout and Bar Mosquito. This stop at the horse roundabout is the one for the market in Alcúdia old town. The information is a little confusing, as it seems to suggest that the train goes to the market, which it doesn't. The stop (number ten on the map) is a normal one on the train's route. In order to get to the market, there is then a walk up the road (and it is up) by the cemetery into the old town. The info is also confusing as it states that Thursdays are a market day. This is wrong. Market days in Alcúdia are Tuesdays and Sundays. Still, for any slight confusion, the trains are a welcome addition (or should that be a welcome return) to Puerto Alcúdia, even if the taxi-drivers hate them.
Among the photos, you'll see that there are some small seats that are at stops along the route. This one is by the Magic roundabout.
Hello Andrew, does the train stop in the port area of Alcudia?
