SA POBLA AUTUMN FAIR 2014

The fair itself takes place over the weekend of 29/30 November, but beforehand there is the weekend of giants, xeremiers (bagpipers) and of the "lutier" fair.

16.30: Giants meeting to celebrate 30 years of the Sa Pobla giants. Plaça d'es Metge Duet.
17.00: Procession from the Plaça d'es Metge Duet to the town hall, greeted by the town's pipers for a commemoration of the 30 years of the giants, followed by a dance by the giants and music from the town's music band.
21.00: Concert by the Xeremiers Orats from Pollensa (pipes, whistles, tambourines and percussion), L'home del sac from Vilanova i la Geltrú, Barcelona, Cassandre Balbar from France, Mùsica populare siciliana from Sicily and Gaiteros del Centro Gallego. Parish church.

ALCUDIA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2014

The Alcúdia Jazz Festival (more a season spread over four weeks) starts on Saturday, 30 August with a free concert on the Paseo Marítimo at 22.00. The other concerts take place at the Auditorium in the town and attract different prices as noted on the poster ("preu").

SA POBLA JAZZ FESTIVAL 2014

The concerts are free but a donation of four euros to help cover the costs of bringing major jazz artists to Sa Pobla is asked for. It really isn't very much to ask. During the festival, there is also "Menjazz", i.e. a gastronomy side festival in which several restaurants participate.
