Puerto Alcúdia Mini Tourist Train
After thirteen years, there is once more a tourist train in Puerto Alcúdia, two of them, one green and one yellow. The trains go from Club Mac by Hidropark across to Bellevue and up onto the main road, travelling on the side road parallel to the Carretera Artà, past Magic and turning off before getting into the port on the road (Avenida Playa) that goes to the horse roundabout and Bar Mosquito. This stop at the horse roundabout is the one for the market in Alcúdia old town. The information is a little confusing, as it seems to suggest that the train goes to the market, which it doesn't. The stop (number ten on the map) is a normal one on the train's route. In order to get to the market, there is then a walk up the road (and it is up) by the cemetery into the old town. The info is also confusing as it states that Thursdays are a market day. This is wrong. Market days in Alcúdia are Tuesdays and Sundays. Still, for any slight confusion, the trains are a welcome addition (or should that be a welcome return) to Puerto Alcúdia, even if the taxi-drivers hate them.
Among the photos, you'll see that there are some small seats that are at stops along the route. This one is by the Magic roundabout.

Restaurante Las Delicias - Playa de Muro
For getting on for forty years, Las Delicias has been run by the Garrido family, Manuel and Virginia and now with their daughters Silvia and Virginia. You can't mistake Las Delicias, it's the restaurant with the Pink Panther and it is right by the Palma roundabout (the one with the giant fish hook on it) at the border between Playa de Muro and Puerto Alcúdia.
Specialities of the house are the grills, fresh fish and paellas.

Restaurante Boy - Playa de Muro
Established since 1978, Restaurante Boy is owned by the Torrens family, son Juan Antonio now at the helm but still assisted by mother Cati, the queen of the grill. Father Juan is now retired but he is often to be seen at the restaurant. It was Juan Senior who coined the name for the restaurant. Rather than call it "Chico" (the Spanish for boy), he opted for the English.
Restaurante Boy is open from February to October, and in the early months of the year, it is a firm favourite with cycling tourists. Its grills are its specialities.

Brendan O'Brian at Mucky O'Marras and Mulligan's
The great and ever-popular Brendan O'Brian, who many will know was a regular at The Posh Paddy (now closed), will be at Mucky O'Marras in Puerto Alcúdia (Nobby's new place by Linekers) and Mulligan's in Puerto Pollensa throughout this season.

The HOT guide 2013
The full version of the new HOT guide for 2013. Hope you all enjoy it. Please note that this is a reduced file size version of the printed format, as the original is too big a file to load and would take you an age to download. (There are ads included in the PDF that are placed by the service provider and which are not part of the guide; they will be obvious, so you can ignore them if you wish.) Please feel free to download and print out the whole publication. But also please note that, for reproduction elsewhere, e.g. in other publications or on other websites, there are copyright permissions associated with this publication.
