SA POBLA AUTUMN FAIR - 2013

The fair is on 23-24 November but there is a gastronomy week starting from 15 November and also events for pipers and the lute/guitar fair the weekend of 16-17 November.

Friday, 15 November - Sunday, 24 November: Gastronomy week in Sa Pobla

Saturday, 16 November:
16:30: Meeting of giants at the Graduate School followed by procession, dance by the Sa Pobla giants in front of the town hall with accompaniment by the municipal band.
18:30: Meeting of pipers and lute/guitar fair.
21:00: Concert by pipers from Sant Llorenç and the Basque Country. Parish church.

Sunday, 17 November:
09:00: Meeting of pipers in the Plaça Major.
10:00: Procession by pipers from the Plaça Major.
10:30: Act of recognition for the pipers Germans Aloy "Llargos". Town hall.
19:00: Petit in concert. At Sa Congregació. Price, 8 euros.

Thursday, 21 November:
20:15: Organ recital by Pere Aguiló at the parish church.
Friday, 22 November:
21:00: Wine tasting. At Can Quic. Tickets, 25 euros.

Saturday, 23 November:
17:30: Opening of exhibition 135 years of the arrival of the train in Sa Pobla. At the town hall, followed by official opening of the fair.
17:30 and on Sunday:
The fair - various Sa Pobla associations (Placeta Església), attractions (Plaça Mercat), farming machinery (C. Mister Green), animals (Placeta del Tren), military and fire service exhibition (in front of Bar sa Placeta).
18:00: Folk dance with Marjal en Festa and Sarau Alcudienc. Can Cirera Prim.
20:00: TIU in concert. Sa Congregació. Prices, 12 euros or nine euros in advance (reduced prices for children).
20:00: Exhibition of jewellery at Arno Rayó Perruquers, C. Asalto.

Sunday, 24 November:
10:30: Pets and puppy party by the Clinica Espai Veterinari.
11:30: Horse show. At the old train station.
12:00: Folk dance. By the town hall.
20:15: Concert by the Sa Pobla Choir and municipal band.

Thursday, 7 November:
20:00: Opening of an exhibition in honour of the artist Joan Vives Campomar. Club Pollença.

Friday, 8 November:
18:00: Opening of the craft fair. Sant Domingo Cloister.

Saturday, 9 November:
10:00-13:00: Open day at the Pollensa Museum.
10:30: Exhibition of historic military vehicles. In the Calle Menéndez y Pelayo.
17:00: Opening of the day centre plus performances by the Orats pipers and Aires de la Cala.
17:00-20:00: Promotion of street rugby. The Calle Reina Maria Cristina.
19:00: Farmers' co-operative. Plaça Vella.
20:00: Street procession with the Pollensa band of drums and cornets.
20:00: Concert by the Pollensa band of music. Montision church.
20:30: Fashion parade featuring designers from Mallorca. Plus music from Cesar Barco. At the Roser church.

10:00: Farmers' co-operative. Plaça Vella.
10:30: National dog championship. Calle Philip Newman.

10:30: Arrival of dignitaries at the Via Pollentia gardens with the Orats pipers and the Aires de la Cala singers.
11:00-20:00: Western trials at Can Escarrinxo.
11:00: Exhibition and demonstration by Mallorcan fire service. Via Pollentia.
18:00: Folk dance with Racó de Tramuntana and Ballugall. Calle Marqués Desbrull.
